Edgeborough School is part of the Charterhouse group of schools, having combined their two charities to provide an outstanding independent, coeducational prep and senior school experience.
Whilst a steady stream of Edgeborough pupils already move to Charterhouse at thirteen and thrive, there is no expectation that an Edgeborough pupil will join Charterhouse, and those wishing to apply will participate in the usual admissions process, just like any other applicant. Importantly, the merger of Edgeborough School & Charterhouse School now offers a way for children leaving another prep school at eleven, but destined for Charterhouse at thirteen, to join the family immediately.

Edgeborough School offers an entry point at Year 7, providing pupils the opportunity to complete two pivotal years of education before potentially transitioning to Charterhouse. This arrangement allows pupils to benefit from Edgeborough’s nurturing and comprehensive curriculum during their formative years, ensuring they are well-prepared for the academic and co-curricular challenges of senior school. The two-year journey at Edgeborough not only strengthens pupils’ foundational knowledge and skills but also eases their transition to the esteemed Charterhouse, setting them on a path to continued success.
