Learning made a real splash this week at Edgeborough as Head of Science, Mr Flannery, took to the water — quite literally — to demonstrate the scientific principles of mass, density and volume.
In a dynamic and memorable STEM learning experience, pupils watched as Mr Flannery braved 14°C water to show how these important scientific concepts interact in the real world. The live demonstration helped students see first-hand how science explains the world around them — a perfect example of hands-on, practical science education in action.
The session reflected Edgeborough’s commitment to inspiring curiosity, encouraging exploration and bringing academic subjects to life through interactive teaching. It’s safe to say this is one science lesson our pupils will be talking about for a long time to come.
A big thank you to Mr Flannery for his creativity, enthusiasm and dedication to making science exciting.
