An Immersive Language Experience
At Edgeborough, we believe that developing future language skills early gives pupils a distinct advantage. Our recent Year 8 German Taster Session showcased this perfectly. Charterhouse’s Head of German, Roderick Duke, led the session, immersing pupils in an engaging introduction to German. They explored the language in a fun and accessible way, gradually boosting their confidence with every interaction.
Learning from Experts
Year 13 linguists Viggo and Lena led the session with energy and expertise, while trainee teacher Monsieur Bloch provided additional support. Pupils worked in pairs to practise pronunciation, ask and answer Wie geht’s dir?, and build their conversational skills. The fast-paced, highly interactive session challenged them to speak and listen in German actively. Moreover, working together encouraged collaboration and peer learning, making the experience even more rewarding.
