We’re proud to announce that Edgeborough Forest School has been officially recognised by the Forest School Association.
This national quality mark confirms that our woodland learning programme follows the highest standards in outdoor education.
“As soon as we saw the scheme, we knew it was right for us,” says Dr Jayne Symons, Head of Pre-Prep. “Our children thrive in their timetabled sessions in the OWL (Outside Woodland Learning) area. It’s a valued part of Edgeborough life.”
Forest School offers children regular time in nature. Through hands-on experiences, they build confidence, curiosity and independence. Sessions are led by qualified staff, with a strong focus on safety, creativity and child-led discovery.
Charlotte Nicholls, Forest School Leader, shares:
“I love working with our Pre-Prep and Pre-School children in the woodland. Their curiosity, care for the environment and confidence to take risks is wonderful to watch. It has such a positive impact on their growth. I’m proud to have led the work towards our accreditation — with full support from Dr Symons and the wider team. Forest School is now embedded in our timetable and our ethos. Our children will continue to thrive as we follow its six core principles.”
