At Edgeborough, we are thrilled to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our Edgeborough LAMDA film stars, Donya and Ankido. These talented individuals continue to shine brightly in the film and television industry, showcasing their exceptional skills and dedication honed through LAMDA training.
Donya’s Journey: From Set to Screen
This year has been monumental for Donya, with her latest project, Warfare, set to release on 11 April 2025. Directed by Alex Garland (Ex Machina, Annihilation), this eagerly awaited movie features Donya alongside industry stars like Will Poulter (Star Wars) and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things, Gladiator). As the youngest cast member, Donya applied her LAMDA training to deliver a standout performance, even sharing a scene with these celebrated actors. The trailer for Warfare is now available, offering a sneak peek at this thrilling film.
Beyond Warfare, Donya explored cutting-edge technology in a commercial filmed shortly before Christmas. This project utilised innovative “360” AI technology, enabling a few filmed shots to be completed by AI. Donya’s excitement about participating in this pioneering approach highlights her adaptability and forward-thinking spirit.
Ankido’s Impressive Milestones
Ankido’s career continues to flourish with diverse and exciting projects. His series Am I Being Unreasonable? premieres this February on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Additionally, Ankido will appear in the CBBC documentary-style programme My Life. This programme, filmed during his audition for The Snowman musical in London last October, provides an intimate look at his journey as a young performer.
Adding to his achievements, Ankido recently attended the cast and crew screening of Beneath, filmed in Morocco last year. Directed by Heidi Greensmith and produced by Bill Kenwright, this film features Ben Miles and Jenny Seagrove. Though its release date remains unconfirmed, Beneath is anticipated to debut in autumn 2025. Seeing his name on the big screen marked an unforgettable moment for Ankido.
Jenny Seagrove, who previously led a drama workshop at Edgeborough, fondly recalled her visit during the screening. She even shared her memories with co-stars, sparking potential future visits to our drama department. Ben Miles, recently featured in Napoleon (filmed locally in Bourne Wood), expressed interest in engaging with our pupils. Fingers crossed for this exciting opportunity!

Donya and Ankido embody the Edgeborough spirit—passionate, creative, and determined. Their accomplishments highlight the impact of a well-rounded education and the invaluable skills gained through LAMDA training. These Edgeborough film achievements serve as a testament to their hard work and dedication.
