Edgeborough Supports Children’s Mental Health Week
From 3rd-9th February, Edgeborough proudly supported Children’s Mental Health Week, highlighting the importance of self-awareness and mental well-being. One in five children faces mental health challenges, making it crucial to foster a supportive environment where everyone feels valued.
Mental well-being matters as much as physical health. Pupils explored ways to care for their minds and discover what helps them feel their best. Whether talking to a friend, staying active, expressing creativity, or pausing to reflect, these strategies support well-being.

Pupils in Years 3 and 4 enjoyed a ‘Mindful Colouring’ session with Year 8 mentors. The Year 8 Wellbeing and Pupil Voice Committees introduced this calming activity to promote relaxation and stress relief. Due to its success, we will continue it as a regular club beyond Children’s Mental Health Week.
A variety of activities throughout the week promoted positive mental health. Reflection exercises, group discussions, and creative outlets encourage self-expression. The highlight will be the ‘Dress to Express’ mufti day on Friday. Pupils can wear outfits that reflect their personality and creativity. This fun initiative raises awareness and funds for school charities supporting mental health initiatives.

We proudly support Place2Be, a charity dedicated to improving children’s mental health through school-based counselling and support. Learn more at www.place2be.org.uk.
Edgeborough remains committed to creating an environment where every pupil feels supported, valued, and empowered to prioritise their well-being. Let’s continue to listen, support, and grow together.
