Our brilliant pre-schoolers have been on the most wonderful journey in the Edgeborough woodwork cabin — a true Early Years highlight!
At the start of the year, we learned how to use real tools for the very first time — tiny hands practising with hammers and screwdrivers, building strength and confidence with every tap and twist. After lots of determination (and even more concentration!), the children proudly created their very first wooden toys… little cars and trains!
As their ambition grew, so did their skills. Soon they were confidently using palm and hand drills, adding longer nails and screws, and transforming their early projects into wonderfully imaginative creations. Pizza cutters, pizzas, dumbbells, towers — you name it, they invented it! Their creativity has been simply phenomenal.
Now, they’re just like real carpenters or toy makers! Using the Japanese saw with impressive strength, precision, and of course, excellent safety. The progress they’ve made is nothing short of incredible.
