Design and Technology is an ever-changing subject that fosters and consolidates traditional and more technological approaches to design and making. Projects are scaffolded from year 3 to build confidence and independence when designing and making small products that fulfil a purpose. Projects become more personalised as the children reach senior prep, enabling them to utilise the skills they have learnt to design and make outcomes to meet a specific need. Sustainability, design history, industry links and scholarship preparation for Senior Schools are all an integral part of the department’s curriculum, which nurtures curiosity and an awareness of the creative and innovative industries.We promote creativity by making it as interesting and exciting as possible and by incorporating it into our extremely rich arts curriculum.
